Portugal resumed training following their 1-1 draw with DR Congo in their opening Group K match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, receiving a major boost with the return of defender Ruben Dias.
The Manchester City center-back missed the tournament opener due to fitness concerns but rejoined full team training at North County District Park in Palm Beach, raising hopes that he could feature in Portugal’s next match.
Players who started against DR Congo took part in recovery sessions, while the rest of the squad, including Dias, completed a full training workout under the watch of Portuguese Football Federation president Pedro Proença.
Portugal are now preparing for a crucial group-stage encounter against Uzbekistan on June 23 in Houston, as they look to secure their first win of the tournament.
Colombia currently lead Group K with three points, while Portugal and DR Congo each have one point and Uzbekistan remain without a point.
