Get to Know More about Royal Mummies Parade

Nowadays, Egypt is getting ready for transferring the royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to their final place at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization.

This event will attract international and regional media agencies as it reflects Egypt’s notions of artifacts appreciation and heritage preservation.

On his side, well-known archaeologist Dr. Zahi Hawass expressed that Tahrir square becomes more valuable especially after moving the Obelisk to the square.

It symbolizes the real spirit of the ancient Egyptian civilization alongside reflecting the glory of its contemporary history.

He added that the development process of Tahrir Square was very good, adding the presence of 4 huge statues of four ram-headed sphinxes in it gives the square more ancient Egyptian spirit.

It’s expected that 22 royal mummies and 17 royal coffins will be moved to NMEC including King Ramses II, King Seqenenre Tao, Queen Hatshepsut, King Seti I, Queen Ahmose-Nefertari, and others.

The process of transferring the royal mummies will take place in a form of a royal parade. Vintage cars and horses will be employed.

A number of chariots will exist in the celebration. Moreover, a number of musical pieces will be performed during the event.

Prominent Archaeologist Dr. Hussein Bassir said that the royal parade’s routes will begin from Tahrir Square, then it will cross beside the Nile, until it reaches its final destination in NMEC.

This parade will reflect the greatness of the Egyptian civilization.
