Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo made his first comment on Sunday's humiliating collapse against Liverpool in the Premier League.

"Sometimes the result is not the one we fight for. Sometimes the score is not the one we want. And this is on us, only on us, because there’s no one else to blame. Our fans were, once again, amazing in their constant support. They deserve better than this, much better, and it’s up to us to deliver. The time is now!," Ronaldo said on his Facebook page.

Salah scored an excellent hat-trick as Liverpool thrashed Manchester United with five clean goals in a match, which could lead to the sack of Man Utd's coach Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

Naby Keita, who left the match for the injury in the 62nd minute, had opened the scoring after only five minutes when he received a brilliant pass from Salah as he slotted the ball past David de Gea.

Liverpool extended their lead in the 13th minute, when Trent Alexander-Arnold sent a low cross to the back post for Diogo Jota to slide in.

Salah scored the third goal, when Naby Keita pulled the ball back for Salah who passed it into the back of the net, before adding the fourth when he side-footed in at the near post.

After the break, the Egyptian star scored his first hat-trick in the season when Jordan Henderson threaded a beautiful ball for Salah to meet and net his third of the match.
