Polish striker Robert Lewandowski has reportedly turned down an offer from Saudi club Al Hilal, choosing to remain at Barcelona for the remainder of the winter transfer window.
According to transfer expert Sacha Tavolieri, Lewandowski prefers to complete his contract with Barcelona rather than move to another club mid-season.
The proposal from Al Hilal came at the initiative of head coach Simone Inzaghi, who sought to strengthen the team’s attack.
However, Lewandowski is focused on finishing his time at Camp Nou strongly and helping Barcelona achieve the best results this season.
Sources close to the player told Mundo Deportivo that Lewandowski is determined to replicate last season’s success, when he helped Barcelona secure the domestic treble, reinforcing his decision to stay in Europe for now.
Al Hilal’s interest in Lewandowski is not new. The Saudi club has attempted to sign him over the past three seasons, but the player has consistently opted to remain in European football.
Looking ahead, Lewandowski is quietly considering his post-Barcelona career.
Recent reports revealed a meeting in Barcelona between the striker, his agent Pini Zahavi, and Chicago Fire sporting director Greg Berhalter, who confirmed that the MLS club has identified Lewandowski as a priority target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
