Riots Erupt in Portland against Police

Portland city, Oregon, US, witnessed more violent acts late Friday after protestors took the street chanting calls against police. The protestors smashed the windows and set several fires in the streets.

The demonstrations erupted after the police killed a man in Lent Park, on the other hand, protestors also called for justice for Adam Toledo, a Latin-American boy who was shot and killed by the police.

The police department of the city tweeted: “Participants in the riot have been seen attempting to burglarize businesses."

The fire was set in various famous stores such as Apple Store. Others have been damaged and destroyed. This violent act was considered the third time the city witnessed in a week.

On the other hand, Chicago city saw a number of demonstrations called for defunding and disbanding the Chicago Police Department after killing Toledo.

Also, they chanted: “Why are we standing here today when that baby had his hands up, telling a cop not to shoot?,” and “…Why do they keep killing us then asking us to stay calm?.” They kept singing “What we do want? Justice! When do we want it? Now!”
