Representatives of 42 countries, including Egypt, gathered in Moscow to establish the international movement of Russophiles (IMR).

This step comes in response to the “Russophobia” term that goes against Russian culture and follows the West.

On his part, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent a greeting message to the participants in the initiative, stressing the importance of this movement aimed to fight Russophobia.

Furthermore, Putin called for the development of dialogue based on mutual human cooperation.

In like manner, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov highlighted that the gathering took place at a Bulgarian initiative, adding that the West might believe that Moscow is behind the plan.

Lavrov asserted that Russia deals with countries within the framework of mutual respect, unlike the West, which seeks to dictate its conditions and force nations to follow their desires.

Nikolai Malinov, a Bulgarian politician who initiated the movement, underlined that the newly created organization will counter the unjustified state of hostility to Russian culture and drive popular diplomacy in order to establish a multipolar world that calls for dialogue, cooperation, and peace among peoples.

Meanwhile, Sherif Gad, President of the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities (EAGRSU), welcomed the invitation to participate.

Gad affirmed that Russian culture is an integral part of global culture, indicating that Moscow granted the world many golden names that provided a lot to humanity and cannot be excluded or banned.
