Media reports indicated, on Friday, that Xabi Alonso is expected to leave Bayer Leverkusen by the end of the season.
Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg said that Alonso will move to Real Madrid to replace Carlo Ancelotti.
The Spanish manager, who won the Bundesliga last season, was recommended before to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool last season.
However, Alonso turned down rumors and said that Leverkusen was the "right place" for him.
Alonso began his management career in 2018 when he took charge of Real Sociedad's B team, and successfully won promotion to Spain's Segunda Division.
He was linked with Borussia Monchengladbach, but he renewed his contract with Sociedad.
In October 2022, Alonso was appointed as Leverkusen's new head coach where he hit more milestones like ending the domination of Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga and leading Leverkusen to the final of the UEFA Europa League in 2024.
