Reports from Spain suggest that Real Madrid may be preparing to part ways with Trent Alexander-Arnold, just months after signing the 27-year-old.

Spanish outlet El Nacional highlighted that the right-back has struggled with recurring injuries, causing him to miss more than half of Madrid’s matches this season.

When fit, Alexander-Arnold has reportedly failed to replicate the form he showed at Liverpool and has struggled to adapt to life in Madrid, drawing criticism for inconsistent performances.

The report adds that the player is reportedly unhappy and questioning his future, feeling that Real Madrid’s current project does not align with his ambitions.

Promised a chance to compete for all major titles, Alexander-Arnold has found stability lacking at the club, a situation highlighted by the dismissal of coach Xabi Alonso earlier this season.

According to the report, manager Álvaro Arbeloa held a direct conversation with Alexander-Arnold, advising him that he is unlikely to receive sufficient playing time and encouraging him to seek a new club in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Arbeloa stressed that the decision is sporting, not disciplinary, and reflects the club’s view that the player would benefit from a less pressurized environment where he can regain confidence and play regularly.
