It was reported on Monday that talks between FC Nantes and Saudi club Neom for the transfer of Egyptian striker Mustafa Mohamed have reportedly failed, according to Africafoot, amid disagreements over the financial terms of the deal.
Despite advanced negotiations and Mohamed's approval, Nantes held firm on their $10 million demand plus a resale percentage.
While Mohamed was keen on joining Neom, the Ligue 1 side’s refusal to lower their valuation has stalled the transfer indefinitely.
Earlier reports from Asharq Al-Awsat confirmed that the player had agreed in principle to the Saudi offer and that official negotiations had begun between the two clubs.
Neom FC are looking to build a high-profile squad capable of competing at the top level of the Saudi Pro League.
The club had targeted Mohamed as a cornerstone of its attacking line, especially alongside Egyptian defender Ahmed Hegazi.
