The 2023 Ballon d'Or winner was leaked, Spanish newspaper Sport reported on Tuesday.
The Spanish sports outlet claimed that the men's Ballon d'Or would be one by Lionel Messi. It added that Erling Haaland, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe are competing with Messi for the prize, especially Halland who scored 52 goals to lead Manchester City to be a triple-crowned champions, including the UEFA Champions League.
However, Messi would manage to control their efforts as he captured the most prestigious cup in the scene of football, the FIFA World Cup, with Argentina.
In case Messi wins, the Inter Miami star would be the first player who is based outside of Europe to win the Ballon d’Or.
The winners of the Ballon d'Or will be announced on October 30.
