Saudi reports indicated, Thursday, that Ittihad Jeddah would release the Egyptian Ahmed Hegazy after sustaining an ACL injury early this year.
The Sport website said that Nuno Santo decided to release Hegazy due to his third ACL injury in his history as a football player, so, he may not be in his prime once again.
Last June, Ittihad Jeddah announced that Egypt's defender Ahmed Hegazi underwent successful surgery on the cruciate ligament of his left knee.
Hegazi sustained the injury during the Ittihad's clash against Al-Fayha FC. The injury caused him to miss the final round of the Saudi Professional League against Al-Tai.
Al Ittihad won the Saudi Pro League after a tough strive with Riyadh's Al Nassr for the title.
Hegazi became among the Jeddah-based club's historical captains who captured two titles with the club in one season.
