On Friday, Sputnik reported that Egypt has approved using another Russian COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik Light, the Russian media agency cited one of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.

The new vaccine is manufactured and will be suitable for exportation as its preservation conditions are not complicated, in addition, it is a single dose vaccine, and the price of the dose is estimated at $ 10.

In February, Egypt approved the first Russian Coronavirus two-dose vaccine, Sputnik V, for emergency use. The Russian Direct Investment Fund set a deal with a leading Egyptian corporation, Minapharm, to produce more than 40 million vaccine doses in Egypt per year.

Moreover, the state set a deal with Russia to bring 10 million Sputnik V doses to be used in the nationwide vaccination rollout. Egypt received the first shipment a few weeks ago, and it included more than 175 thousand doses.

In the same context, Egypt received several Coronavirus vaccines shipments recently such as Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson to be used beside Sinopharm, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca that the country mainly depend on through its vaccination campaign.

In addition, the African state will start localizing the production of some vaccines such as Pfizer, and Moderna alongside expanding the production lines of Sinovac manufacture in Egypt.
