Portuguese midfielder Bernardo Silva has reportedly rejected a formal offer from FC Barcelona, according to Spanish media reports, after being unconvinced by both the financial terms and the sporting project presented by the Catalan club.

Silva is expected to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to a highly successful spell in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola.

According to fichajes, the 31-year-old was not satisfied with Barcelona’s proposal, feeling that the project did not match his ambitions at this stage of his career.

As a free agent, Silva is believed to be seeking a more competitive sporting challenge alongside a contract that reflects his status as one of Europe’s top midfielders.

Barcelona, meanwhile, reportedly opted not to increase their wage structure significantly for the player, prioritizing financial stability and focusing on strengthening other key positions ahead of the new season.

Silva’s imminent departure represents a significant loss for Manchester City, where he has been a key tactical figure due to his versatility and influence across multiple midfield roles.

With Barcelona now out of the race, other clubs are monitoring the situation closely. Turkish side Galatasaray have reportedly submitted a lucrative offer, while Juventus are also keeping a close eye on developments as they consider a potential move for the Portuguese international.
