Barcelona are reportedly working on bringing Manchester City star Erling Haaland in 2025, with the Liga giants eager to convince Xavi to stay with the club.
Back in January, Blaugrana legend Xavi stated his intention to step down as manager after the 2023-24 season.
Barca have since reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League and closed the gap on Clasico rivals Real Madrid in the Liga title race, leading to suggestions that Xavi could be talked into staying put.
Barca believe that ambition in the recruitment market could help them to convince their current Xavi that more success can be savoured, with Mundo Deportivo claiming that prolific Norwegian striker Haaland will be targeted in the summer of 2025.
Haaland has previously been linked with Real Madrid, but Barcelona are confident that they can compete for bringing him to the Camp Nou. Haaland's contract with the Citizens is until 2027.
