Spanish newspaper Marca stated, Tuesday, that Real Madrid's defender Sergio Ramos has rejected the offer made by his club management regarding the renewal of the contract.

Ramos' contract with Real Madrid is scheduled to expire at the end of the current season, and so far, negotiations between him and the management of the Royal Club have not reached a positive point.

According to what was reported by Marca, Ramos has rejected the proposal of Florentino Perez, the club's president, provided that he began reviewing offers from other clubs.

The Spanish newspaper explained that the captain of the Royal team is not satisfied with the proposal to renew his contract on a year by year basis, while at the same time the management of the Spanish club is looking to reduce wages to face the economic crisis resulting from the Corona pandemic.

Some reports have indicated that the offer made by Real Madrid includes renewal for 1 year with the same contract amount, or renewal for 2 years with a salary reduction of 10%.

Ramos joined Real Madrid during the summer transfer window for the 2005/06 season coming from Sevilla FC.

The 34-year-old star took part in the crowning of the Royal team in many tournaments, most notably the European Champions League (4 times), the Club World Cup (4 times), and the European Super Cup ( 3 times) and the Spanish LaLiga (5 times).
