On Friday, iconic coach Herve Renard revealed that he turned down an offer to manage Nigeria's first national football team.
The 56-year-old left his role as the coach of France first national women's team in August after the team's elimination from 2024 Paris Olympics quarter-finals.
He told French L'Equipe: "I almost went to Nigeria," the French tactician told .
"I weighed the pros and cons for several days, even weeks, before deciding to turn it down.
"It was the best offer I had received, but ultimately, it wasn't the right fit for me."
Renard previously led two African teams to win the AFCON: Zambia in 2012, and Ivory Coast in 2015.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is still in search of a new coach since the departure of Finidi George after just two games.
On the other hand, several reports claimed that Renard is so close to head to Senegal.
