April 11 marks the 3rd death anniversary of the prominent actor, Mahmoud El-Gendi, who gave some amazing performances and made a name for himself not only in Egypt but also in many countries across the Arab world.

Born and raised in Abul Matamir, Beheira Governorate, he earned his bachelor's in 1967 from the Higher Institute of Cinema.
He shot to fame with her success in ‘Dmoa'a in Ain Wakha’ series (1979), and many remarkable films and stunning performances followed suit. His performance in (Al-Shad We Dmoa'a') starring Fouad El-Mohandis, won him much praise from Arab fans and critics alike.
Throughout his long-standing career, he featured in a range of successful films like 'Shams ElZanaty',"Horoob Eterary” (Forced Escape), “Yom Helww Yom Mor” (Good and Bad Days), “Uncle Zizo Habiby”, “El-Kerd Beyetkalem” (The Monkey is Talking).
Moreover, the late actor, who was born on February 24, 1945, played significant and remarkable roles in a variety of Egypt's blockbusters, including “Zezenya”, “El Khawaga Abdel Kader”, “El-Ab el-Rouhy” (The Godfather), and “Thel el-Raes” (The Shadow of the President).
The talented actor was married four times, first to Doha Hassan, who died in a fire accident at her house, and then to renowned actress Abla Kamel. El-Gendi's last marriage was to Hayam, the daughter of actor Gamal Ismail.
El-Gendi received various accolades from several national and international institutions and film festivals.
Unfortunately, the remarkable actor passed away on April 11 at the age of 74.
