Remembering Ezzat Abou Ouf on His 5th Death Anniversary

It's been five years since the death anniversary of the legendary actor Ezzat Abou Ouf, best known for his role as "Rushdy" in the movie "Omer and Salma."

Born on August 21, 1948, he made his artistic debut as part of a band formed with his four sisters: Mariam, Mervat, May, and Manal.

He was known for his collaboration with notable musicians of the 80s, like pianist Omar Khairat, who played drums for Les Petits Chats before Ezzat.

In addition to his singing talent, he had also established himself as one of the most skilled stars of his time.

Abou Ouf was a versatile actor and comedian, recognized for his work in Egyptian cinema during the 20th and 21st centuries. His fans in the film world fondly referred to him as “The Doctor.”

Throughout his career, he appeared in many successful works including "Ice Cream in Gleam" (1992), "Bakhit wa Adeela 1 and 2" (1994 and 1997), "Ismailia Rayeh Gai" (1997), "Edhak El-Sora Tetla Helwa" (1998), "Ard El-Khouf" (2000), "Asrar El-Banat" (2001), "Matab Sena'y" (2006), the "Hassan W-Morqos" trilogy (2008, 2009, and 2012), "La Tarago' Wala Esteslam" (2010), "Les Petits Chats" (2016), and "Horob Edterary" (2017).

He later starred in several television plays, continuing his successful journey as a versatile television actor with remarkable performances in "Zeznya" (1997), followed by "Ragol Akher" (Other Man) starring Nour ElSheif and Mervat Amin, and "The Ladies of Garden City" (1998).

On July 1, 2019, Abou Ouf passed away at the age of 71 after a long battle with illness.
