Today (Dec. 25) marks the 105th birth anniversary of late President Mohamed Anwar El-Sadat, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1978.

He is the third president of the Arab Republic of Egypt who ruled Egypt from September 28, 1970, as an acting president and as the formal president from October 17, 1970, to October 6, 1981.

Born in 1918, El-Sadat was an extraordinary politician, renowned for his many talents that contributed to his remarkable charisma and enduring legacy.

His intelligence and acumen made him a hero in both war and peace, and his unique personal background was shaped by his skills as a man who could cross battle lines.

The late President was famous for his boldness, cunning, and political shrewdness, which became evident with his elimination of political opponents in the Correction Revolution.

Sadat worked tirelessly to prepare for the recovery of the Sinai Peninsula from Israel's grip following the setback in the 1967 war.

He managed to defeat Israel three years after the beginning of his rule in the October 1973 war.
