A few days ago, an extraordinary event took place and it left the whole world in a mood of enjoyment, and a deep impression. "The Pharaoh's Golden Parade," 22 Ancient Egyptian Kings and Queens passed through a final royal golden journey to their final destination, the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization. The event called another golden parade presented on the screen, "The Night of Counting Years, The Mummy" by genius Egyptian director Shadi Abdel Salam.

Released in 1969, the film narrates the story of a family of tome-robbers who discovered a gate to an Ancient Egyptian tomb that full of mummies and treasures.

The two leaders of the family, Abdel Rassoul Family, tried to convince the son of their departed brother, Wannis, to lead the family's business.

Wannis finds himself in a heavy inner conflict between his morals as a human, the pressure his uncles direct on him, and his philosophical thoughts of recognizing his place in his community. He was attached by the eyes of the ancient Egyptian mummy, the same glances he experienced in the eyes of "Zeina," an Egyptian unknown lady who wandered the lands.

Next, he decided to inform the authorities about the secret of the family, the mummies, and their treasures. The authorities managed to transport the mummies to a new place to be saved and studied.

The plot of the film is based on the true story of discovering the DB-320 in Luxor.

The release was the earliest film in the history of Egyptian and Arabic cinema to shed the light on the hidden scene of the illegal trading artifacts market, and the story of unearthing the DB-320.

Focusing on well-designed decorations, the epic Ancient Egyptian landscapes in temples, desserts, in addition to the deep philosophical hidden meanings of parallel existences, the meaning of life, the conflict of man and society.

Abdel-Salam enriched each minor detail employed in the film such as decorations, clothes, shots, and characters, alongside a breathtaking detail that caught the minds of the audience which is attaching verses from the "Book of the Dead."

"May you be obeyed, Lord of Light, who you live in the heart of the great house.

Prince of night and darkness, I have come to you as a pure soul, Grant me a mouth that I may speak in your presence.

Bring me my heart quickly on the day when clouds become heavy and the darkness thickens.

Give me my name in the great house, and return my name, to memory,

on the day when the years are counted."

It is worthy to mention that the film earned impressive world reception and it participated in laying the bases of New Realism.

During sharing the photos of the event, Social Media users employed the name of Abdel Salam's film title: "يوم أن تحصى السنين" (The Night of Counting Years."
