Iconic Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois sustained an ACL injury ahead of the LaLiga opening match against Athletic Bilbao.
The 31-year-old player will undergo surgery in the coming days.
In his absence, goalkeeper Andriy Lunin will likely replace Courtois in the starting lineup, however, Real Madrid may consider a move for another goalkeeper this Summer.
The Ukrainian goalkeeper was expected to leave the club this summer, but Courtois' injury will definitely change the Royal Club's plans.
The winner of the best goalkeeper in the world last year held the title of the LaLiga twice since he joined the Royal Club in 2018. He made 230 appearances with them.
Courtois won the Premier League twice with Chelsea before moving to the LaLiga. He also won the Champions League in 2022.
