Real Madrid have reportedly reached an agreement with Dutch right-back Denzel Dumfries over a three-year contract, paving the way for his move from Inter Milan ahead of the new season.
According to Spanish outlet El Chiringuito, the 30-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Spanish giants and is expected to become one of the club's key additions this summer.
The report adds that Dumfries' contract with Inter includes a €25 million release clause. Real Madrid must now decide whether to activate the clause in full or attempt to negotiate a lower transfer fee with the Italian club.
Dumfries has been a key figure for Inter since joining the club, making 207 appearances, scoring 27 goals, and providing 28 assists. During his time in Milan, he helped the team win two Serie A titles, three Coppa Italia trophies, and three Italian Super Cups, while also reaching the UEFA Champions League final on two occasions.
The Dutch international could become Real Madrid's second major signing of the summer following reports linking the club with Ibrahima Konaté, who is said to be close to joining from Liverpool FC on a four-year contract.
If completed, the move would strengthen Real Madrid's options at right-back as the club prepares for another campaign competing on multiple fronts.
