On Tuesday, Spanish media reported that Real Madrid plan to extend the contract of one of its major stars for a longer period.
According to the Spanish newspaper AS, Real Madrid are working to secure the stay of its English star, Jude Bellingham, despite his current contract running until 2027.
This decision comes in light of his outstanding performances throughout the last season and the current one.
Bellingham joined Los Blancos in the summer of 2023 from Borussia Dortmund and quickly became an indispensable part of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad thanks to his exceptional midfield performances and attacking contributions.
The newspaper added that the Merengues' management started formal negotiations with Bellingham in the past few hours to extend his contract until 2029, aiming to fend off interest from major European clubs.
Bellingham has been one of Real Madrid’s most influential players this season, featuring in 35 matches across all competitions, scoring 11 goals, and providing 11 assists.
Negotiations between the two parties are expected to progress in the coming days, as Real Madrid seek to finalize the deal swiftly.
