Real Madrid Forward Mariano Contracts Coronavirus

Real Madrid announced on Tuesday that their striker Mariano has tested positive for Covid-19, the club said on Tuesday.

In a statement, La Liga champions said that he 26-year-old forward is in "perfect health” and “complying with the sanitary isolation protocol at home”.

He was an unused substitute for Real’s last match – a 2-2 draw in La Liga away at Leganes on 19 July.

It is worth mentioning that the Whites are set to take on Manchester City in the second leg of their last-16 Champions League tie on Friday, 7 August.

The Citizens secured a 2-1 victory over Madrid i n the first leg, which was played in February before the coronavirus pandemic caused the competition to be halted.
