Real Madrid have announced the departure of midfielder Dani Ceballos after reaching a mutual agreement to terminate his contract, bringing an end to the Spaniard's nine-year career at the Santiago Bernabéu.
In an official statement released on Friday, the club thanked Ceballos for his commitment and contributions since joining from Real Betis in the summer of 2017.
During his time with Los Blancos, the 29-year-old made 215 appearances and helped the club win 16 major trophies.
His honors with Real Madrid include three UEFA Champions League titles, four FIFA Club World Cups, three UEFA Super Cups, two LaLiga championships, one Copa del Rey, and three Spanish Super Cups, making him part of one of the most successful eras in the club's history.
Real Madrid wished Ceballos success in the next stage of his career, emphasizing that the club "will always be his home" in recognition of his dedication throughout his nine seasons in Madrid.
Ceballos also bid farewell to the club and its supporters in an emotional message on social media, describing his departure as one of the most difficult decisions of his career.
He said he leaves with unforgettable memories and immense pride after representing one of the world's biggest clubs.
The Spanish midfielder thanked club president Florentino Pérez, his coaches, teammates, and all the staff for their support over the years.
He reserved special appreciation for the Real Madrid fans, saying their encouragement through both the highs and lows would remain with him forever.
"I leave knowing I gave everything for this badge," Ceballos wrote. "Real Madrid will always be a part of my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart."
