On Saturday, Real Madrid star Dani Carvajal sustained a horrible injury early his team's game against Villareal in the La Liga.
The player was moved out of the field in a stretcher. Videos for the fall of Carvajal went viral, hurting the hearts of all football fans.
Today, Sunday, the player confirmed that he sustained an ACL tear and will undergo surgery.
Dani Carvajal underwent medical tests early Sunday after the injury. The Spaniard's reaction immediately reflected the impression that the injury was serious.
The player said on Instagram: “I can confirm it's a serious cruciate ligament injury. I’m gonna have surgery and be sidelined for a few months."
He expressed that he cried, but he is fixing his eyes to return soon.
"Already looking forward to starting recovery and coming back like a beast”. “Thank you all so much for your messages, I feel very loved," he concluded his post.
Real Madrid clarified in their official statement that Carvajal suffered two other fracture alongside a torn ACL.
"Following tests carried out on Dani Carvajal by the Real Madrid Medical Services, the player has been diagnosed with a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament, a ruptured external collateral ligament and a ruptured popliteus tendon in his right leg. He will undergo surgery in the coming days," the statement reads.
