On Tuesday, La Liga giants Real Madrid's revenues surpassed €1billion ($1.085bn) for the 2023-24 season, according to the club’s annual accounts.
The club said in a statement: "Real Madrid posted an official statement that read: “Real Madrid become the first football club to exceed €1bn in revenue."
It added: “Revenue for the 2023-24 season, excluding player transfers, reached €1.073bn, 27% more than the previous year.
“Real Madrid made a profit of €16 million in the 2023-24 year. The club maintains a solid financial situation with a net worth of €574m.”
The club’s revenue reached €1.073bn ($1.16bn), after recording a 27% increase from the previous year regardless of the upgrading work at the club's stadium.
The club also reported a profit of €16million ($17.3m) for the fiscal year, with a net worth of €574m ($623m) and net debt of just €8m ($8.6m) as of June 30, 2024.
Therefore, the club claimed that they are the first football club whose revenues hit exceed €1bn in revenue.
Real Madrid get their revenue increase from several business sides of the club, especially those related to the stadium.
