Lionsgate has unveiled the official trailer and release date for the action crime thriller "1992", which is one of Ray Liotta‘s final film roles.

The Emmy-winning actor co-starred in the movie opposite Tyrese Gibson. In addition, Snoop Dogg boarded the movie as EP via his Death Row Pictures banner.

"1992" joins other wide entries on August 30: Sony/Blumhouse’s horror movie "They Listen", Showbiz Direct Distribution’s "Reagan", and Roadside Attractions’ thriller "City of Dreams".

Liotta died in May 2022 at the age of 67 from heart and respiratory issues. At the time, there were several projects he had already shot, including Elizabeth Banks’ "Cocaine Bear", and the Apple TV+ series "Black Bird".

In "1992", Mercer (Gibson) desperately tries to rebuild his life and relationship with his son (Christopher A’mmanuel) amidst the turbulent 1992 L.A. uprising following the Rodney King verdict.

Meanwhile, another father and son (Liotta and Scott Eastwood) across town put their strained relationship to the test as they plot a dangerous heist to steal catalytic converters, which contain valuable platinum from the factory where Mercer works.

As tensions rise in Los Angeles and chaos erupts, both families reach their boiling points when they collide.

The Ariel Vromen-directed and-produced movie also stars Clé Bennett, Dylan Arnold, Michael Beasley, Ori Pfeffer, Tosin Morohunfola, and Oleg Taktarov.

Vromen directed the pic from a script he co-wrote along with Sascha Penn off a story by Penn. "1992" is also produced by Andreas Rommel, Maurice Fadida, Penn, and Adam Kolbrenner.

"1992" is set to debut on the Labor Day weekend, August 30.
