Early Monday, Sergio Ramos scored his first goal with Monerrey to secure the Mexican's club 4-2 victory over Santos Laguna as part of the 10th round of the Mexican league.
Ramos scored his goal in the 57th minute of the match with a header inside the penalty area.
Ramos signed a two-year contract with the Mexican club from Sevilla after six months of searching for a new contract.
The former Real Madrid star will wear the number 93 jersey in memory of one of the most important goals in his career.
In 2014, Ramos scored 93rd minute of the UEFA Champions League final against city Atletico Madrid and brought the Royal club to extra time in which they captured the win.
In the same context, Real Madrid congratulated Ramos, saying: “The legend of our club chose to wear the number 93 in the new club because of the 93rd minute and the goal that we all remember. It is a tribute to the fans of our club and we will always be grateful to Sergio for that."
Ramos played 671 games, scoring 101 goals and 40 assists as a defender.
He won several trophies with the Madrid team, including four UEFA Champions Leagues.
