Raheem Sterling Survives Home Burglary Attempt as Police Appeal for Witnesses

According to UK media, the incident occurred just before Chelsea’s Premier League clash against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Sterling was preparing to watch the match at home when several masked intruders broke into his property, located on the outskirts of London.

Masked Men Break Into Sterling’s Home

A spokesperson for Sterling confirmed the incident in a statement published by the British press:

“We can confirm that Raheem Sterling’s home was broken into over the weekend. He and his children were inside at the time. We are pleased to confirm that Raheem and his family are safe and unharmed.”

The Metropolitan Police have since launched an investigation and are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the burglars.

Sterling Confronted the Intruders

According to the Mirror, a group of masked thieves entered the upper floor of the house and began searching for valuables. However, they fled in panic after realizing Sterling was home.

Reports indicate that the break-in occurred between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. (London time), roughly an hour before Chelsea’s kickoff against Wolves. Sterling is said to have grabbed a kitchen knife and went upstairs to confront the intruders, successfully preventing them from stealing any possessions.

This is not the first time Sterling’s home has been targeted. During the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, the player was forced to leave England’s training camp after burglars broke into his London home while his family was inside.

The latest incident has once again raised concerns over the safety of Premier League players and their families, as similar break-ins have occurred across England in recent years.
