President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is expected to receive Wednesday Tanzania's Counterpart Samia Suluhu Hassan, at Ettihadiya palace in eastern Cairo, according to Presidency Spokesperson Bassam Rady.
In June, Sisi made a phone call with Hassan to congratulate her on assuming her new position, wishing her the very best and all the success in performing her duties.
Sisi asserted the special and historical Egyptian-Tanzanian relationship as well as the development in relations seen following His Excellency’s visit to Dar es Salaam in 2017.
He affirmed Egypt’s keenness to hold talks and promote cooperation with the Tanzanian President with a view to strengthening already-robust relations in various fields in furtherance of the interests of the two brotherly peoples, especially with regard to boosting bilateral trade with Tanzania, encouraging infrastructure development and providing technical support and capacity building.
On her part, the Tanzanian President expressed her great appreciation to the people and leadership of Egypt, noting that there are broad prospects for developing relations and promoting joint cooperation between Egypt and Tanzania.
Tanzania’s President also commended Egypt’s support for the Tanzanian development efforts, especially through working on Tanzania’s Julius Nyerere Dam project.
