Rady: Sisi Receives Saudi Commerce Minister

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Thursday Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia Maged bin Abdullah Al-Kassabi in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala El-Said and Minister of Trade and Industry Mrs. Nevine Gamea, along with Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Egypt Osama Naqli and President of the Saudi-Egyptian Business Council Bandar Al-Amri.The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency Bassam Rady stated that President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi asked that his greetings be conveyed to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The President affirmed Egypt’s solid, historical relations with Saudi Arabia at all levels and stressed Egypt’s firm position on supporting the security and stability of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, part of Egypt's national security.

Furthermore, the President affirmed his full support for promoting intra-trade and increasing joint investment projects between the two countries in various development fields in furtherance of the common interests of the two countries. The President also noted that the Egyptian government is keen to communicate regularly with Saudi investors to support their activities in Egypt.

For his part, the Saudi Arabian Minister of Commerce Dr. Majid Al-kassabi conveyed greetings to President El-Sisi from his two brothers, the King and Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia. The Minister stressed the strength and specificity of the relationship between the two brotherly countries and expressed his appreciation for Egypt’s pivotal role in the region as it represents a main pillar of security and stability in the Arab world.

Dr. Majid Al-kassabi further commended the comprehensive development renaissance that Egypt has been witnessing under the leadership of President El-Sisi during the past years since the start of the economic reform process. He hailed Egypt’s efforts to provide a favorable investment climate, to enhance the business environment, to establish major projects being implemented across the country, and to create perse and promising investment opportunities in all sectors, thus making a remarkable qualitative leap in all aspects of life in Egypt. Hence, Saudi businessmen have shown keenness to increase their investments in Egypt in light of the significant and serious development they have seen in its investment climate.

According to the Spokesman, the meeting discussed ways of supporting the Saudi-Egyptian Business Council for its important role in increasing communication and interaction between businessmen in the two countries, presenting the available investment opportunities and discussing new joint projects. In addition, consensus was reached on the necessity of continuing to hold the joint committee between the two sides periodically in order to discuss means of enhancing economic, investment and trade relations between the two brotherly countries.
