Reports said on Tuesday that Queen Elizabeth II lobbied the government to change a draft law that forces the Royal Family to show its private wealth to the public, according to The Guardian.

Windsor family's private lawyer's memos with ministers have been found in the National Archives expressing that many laws were prevented because they can reveal the queen's wealth to the public.

The queen's intervention was based on an old convention that was concocted in the 1970s.

The convention was used in effect "to create a state-backed shell corporation that is understood to have placed a veil of secrecy over the Queen’s private shareholdings and investments until at least 2011," The Guardian highlighted.

Moreover, more than 1,000 laws have been reviewed by the Queen and Prince Charles before they were approved by the parliament.
