The draws for the quarterfinals of the 2025–2026 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup were held today, officially mapping out the paths for Africa’s top clubs as they advance to the knockout stages.
The group stages concluded just two days ago, highlighting the dominance of Arab clubs, with six teams from the region qualifying for each tournament.
CAF Champions League Quarterfinals
The Champions League draw produced the following matchups:
Al Ahly (Egypt) vs Espérance Sportive de Tunis
Pyramids FC (Egypt) vs Raja Casablanca
Al Hilal vs Renaissance Sportive de Berkane
Stade Malien vs Mamelodi Sundowns
The winner of the Al Ahly–Espérance tie will face the winner of Stade Malien vs Mamelodi Sundowns in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the victor between Al Hilal and RS Berkane will meet the winner of Pyramids vs Raja Casablanca.
The Champions League final is scheduled for May 15 and 24, 2026.
CAF Confederation Cup Quarterfinals
The Confederation Cup draw also featured exciting fixtures:
Zamalek SC vs AS Otohô
Al Masry (Egypt) vs CR Belouizdad
Wydad AC vs Olympic Safi
USM Alger vs Maniema Union
Zamalek will face AS Otohô in a matchup considered favorable on paper, while Al Masry is set for a challenging encounter against CR Belouizdad.
The winner of Zamalek–Otohô will face the victor of Al Masry–CR Belouizdad in the semifinals. On the other side, the Moroccan showdown between Wydad and Olympic Safi will meet the winner of USM Alger vs Maniema Union.
The Confederation Cup final is scheduled for May 9 and 16, 2026.
With the draws complete, African club football enters a decisive stage where Arab clubs are well positioned to make deep runs, setting the scene for high-stakes clashes leading up to the finals.
