Qatar Stars League outfit Al-Rayyan have denied the rumors indicating negotiations with Al Ahly head coach Pitso Mosimane.

Mosimane arrived in Egypt back in 2020 and he has been leading Al Ahly to major continental success.

In less than two years, Mosimane won two back-to-back CAF Champions League titles with Al Ahly, two CAF Super Cups, and two Club World Cup bronze medals.

He also led Al Ahly to their third consecutive Champions League final, and on the 30th of this month, he will be aiming to clinch another prestigious title with the Reds.

Despite Al Ahly recently renewing Mosimane’s contract, rumors surged about him leaving for Qatari outfit Al-Rayyan.

However, Al-Rayyan media supervisor Amir Fathy denied these rumors, claiming that Mosimane’s agent talked with a number of Qatari clubs for a potential move but that was before his contract renewal with Al Ahly.

“What I know is that Mosimane and his agent talked to a number of Qatari clubs before renewing his contract with Al Ahly, but they didn’t get any offers,” Fathy said.

“Right now, there are no negotiations between us [Al-Rayyan] and Mosimane, I also don’t think any Qatari clubs are negotiating with him at the moment.”
