The Qatar Football Association has announced that the national team will play an international friendly against Ireland as part of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled to take place across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

The match is set for May 28, 2026, at Aviva Stadium in Dublin, marking the final stage of Qatar’s pre-World Cup preparations.

Qatar were drawn into Group B of the World Cup alongside Canada, Switzerland, and the winner of the first European playoff.

Ahead of the tournament, the team will also participate in a friendly mini-tournament in Doha from March 26 to 31, facing Argentina and Serbia, alongside Spain, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia, six teams that have already qualified for the World Cup.

Historically, Qatar and Ireland have met twice during the European qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup, although Qatar participated in those matches in a non-official capacity and the results were not counted in the standings.
