Qatar has announced the dispatch of two military aircraft carrying humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people in Gaza.

This effort is part of Qatar's commitment to alleviate the suffering of Palestinians in the face of the challenging humanitarian conditions resulting from Israeli airstrikes.

The two planes headed to El Arish Airport in Egypt on Sunday, from where their cargo will be transported by land to the Gaza Strip through the Rafah Crossing, according to the official Qatari news agency.

The agency reported that "the two planes belong to the Qatari Armed Forces, carrying a total of 87 tons of humanitarian aid."

Egyptian journalist Maisoun Abu Al-Hassan told Sputnik, "Around 17 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid have moved towards the Rafah Crossing on Sunday."

El Arish Airport in Egypt has been receiving humanitarian aid from numerous countries worldwide that have declared their intention to provide assistance to the Palestinian people. This aid will be delivered to Gaza through the land border crossing at Rafah.

Several countries, including Russia, Turkey, Qatar, Algeria, Jordan, Kuwait, and others, have announced the dispatch of humanitarian aid to Gaza through Egypt.

The Israeli airstrikes on Gaza have continued for 16 consecutive days, resulting in a devastating toll of casualties.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported over 4,651 deaths, including 1,873 children, 1,023 women, 187 elderly individuals, and 14,245 injured as of Sunday, October 22.

The World Health Organization, the World Food Programme, UNICEF, the United Nations Development Programme, and the United Nations Population Fund have collectively described the situation in Gaza as "catastrophic."
