France’s President Emmanuel Macron announced a landmark investment agreement with Qatar's Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

This agreement, signed during a formal dinner at the Elysee Palace marking the commencement of the Emir's official visit to Paris, pledges a substantial investment of 10 billion euros into the French economy by the year 2030.

The investments are set to span a diverse range of sectors including energy transition, semiconductors, aerospace, artificial intelligence, as well as digital, health, and cultural industries.

The visit, which is the Emir's first state visit to France in nearly 11 years since his ascension to power, marks a significant milestone in the longstanding diplomatic relations between the two nations.

The French Presidency highlighted that the discussions between Macron and the Qatari Emir would cover various pressing issues including the situation in the Middle East, efforts towards a lasting ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and the release of all hostages, including three French nationals, alongside substantial humanitarian aid deliveries to the inhabitants of Gaza.

Furthermore, the statement from the French Presidency outlined an upcoming humanitarian operation in collaboration with Qatar, comprising several flights to transport essential supplies including ambulances and tents to Gaza.

This summit not only provides a platform for discussing regional and international issues but also aims to deepen bilateral relations in alignment with the economic, investment, defense, security, cultural, and developmental visions of France and Qatar for 2030.
