Qatar has declared its intention to organize a new edition of the Arab Cup next year.

The announcement was made by the Qatari Minister of Sports and Youth and the President of the Organizing Committee for the 2023 Asian Cup, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

In a statement released today, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani revealed that the upcoming Arab Cup will be organized in cooperation with the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Arab Football Federation. “Qatar will host the next Arab Cup, aiming to deliver an edition even better than the last. Details regarding the format and dates of the tournament will be announced later,” he said.

Qatar previously hosted the latest edition of the Arab Cup in 2021 as a precursor to the 2022 World Cup, marking a significant success for the country in organizing large-scale sporting events.

Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa further expressed Qatar's aspirations beyond the Arab Cup. “Following our successes in hosting various global and continental championships, our greatest dream remains to host the Olympic Games. We have previously bid to host the Olympics in recent years and intend to bid again.”

The next Olympic Games are scheduled to take place in Paris, followed by Los Angeles in 2028 and Brisbane, Australia, in 2032.
