Pyramids head coach Rodolfo Arruabarrena has named his 20-man squad for their clash against Ittihad Tripoli in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Cairo-based side have fared well in the CAF Confederation Cup last season after participating in the competition for the first time last season, reaching the final where they lost to RS Berkane.

However, they managed to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup once again after finishing third in the Egyptian Premier League last season.

They are set to meet Libya’s Ittihad Tripoli in the first leg of the competition’s first round on 22 December.

Former Al Ahly trio Ramadan Sobhi, Sherif Ekramy, and Ahmed Fathi, who recently recovered from COVID-19, have all made the cut along with Palestinian forward Mahmoud Wadi.

Meanwhile, summer signing Ahmed El-Sheikh as well as Abdallah Bakri and Ahmed El-Shenawy have not been included in the squad.

Full Pyramids squad:

Goalkeepers: El-Mahdi Soliman and Sherif Ekramy.

Defenders: Ali Gabr, Ahmed Ayman Mansour, Ahmed Tawfik, Ahmed Fathi, Ahmed Samy, Wilfred Kanon, and Tarek Taha.

Midfielders: Mohamed Fathi, Eric Traore, Islam Issa, Mahmoud Hamada, Ramadan Sobhi, Nabil Emad Dunga, Omar Gaber, and Abdallah El-Said.

Forwards: Mahmoud Wadi, John Antwi, and Dodo El-Gabbas.
