Russian President Vladimir Putin set a condition for ending the "war" with Ukraine once and for all, during his meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, just days after Hungary assumed the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union for a period of six months.

To stop the war completely, Putin stipulated the necessity of removing all Ukrainian forces from “the Republic of Donetsk and Luhansk and the Kherson and Zaporozhye provinces,” pointing out that the implementation of the Russian peace initiative that was proposed a short time ago; It would stop "hostilities" and begin negotiations, which should not be merely a truce and ceasefire.

Putin said - during a press conference with the Hungarian Prime Minister, following their discussions in Moscow, broadcast by the “RT” news channel - that opinions were exchanged on important topics, including the conflict in Ukraine, “We also talked about possible ways to settle this conflict, "We are always ready to discuss a diplomatic political settlement in Ukraine."
