Today, Tuesday, Russian media published photos of the meeting between Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, in the Russian capital, Moscow.
Putin told Russian media that: "The Syrian government controls more than 90% of the country's territory."
Meanwhile, Putin assured his Syrian counterpart, Bashar al-Assad, that foreign forces are hampering all efforts aiming at the stability of Syria.
Putin told Assad that foreign forces in Syria without a U.N. decision were a hindrance to its consolidation, the Kremlin said. Putin also congratulated him on winning a fourth term in office in a presidential election in May.
"Terrorists sustained very serious damage, and the Syrian government, headed by you, controls 90% of the territories," Putin said, according to a Kremlin statement.
