PSG to Not Renew Messi's Contract, Says L'Équipe

Paris Saint-Germain won't renew the contract of the Argentinian star Lionel Messi for the next season, L'Équipe reported on Tuesday.

The issue of renewing Messi's contract with the French club trended in social media and sports headlines amid a rumored Barcelona return.

It was already a big trend, it is now recorded. Lionel Messi, sanctioned on Tuesday after his trip to Saudi Arabia, will no longer be at Paris Saint-Germain next season.

L'Équipe added that there is an optional year in the contract of the Argentinian star with the French club, but it seems that the club directors would have the same attitude as Messi to not extend the contract.

Only three appearances of Messi left with the jersey of Paris Saint-Germain.

Earlier, PSG decided to suspend the Argentine forward Lionel Messi for two weeks, French RMC Sport reported.

The decision was made by the club after Messi made an unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia, and his absence from the training.
