Spanish reports on Wednesday said that Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) will not sign Lionel Messi as the French club have been linked as a potential team for the Argentinian captain.

The Uefa Champions League runner-up do not consider any plans on making a move for Messi, which is a different story to Inter and Manchester City.

"PSG are not willing to pay more eye-watering sums of money, as they did when Neymar and Kylian Mbappe arrived at the club," the newspaper said.

"The Brazilian and Frenchman are the two players they are building around, so they are instead looking at other targets: a right-back, a centre-back, a midfielder and, if anything, a back-up forward," Marca noted.

It also added that the French club are focusing on signing players, which to bolster the squad  rather than bringing in Messi for a lot of money.

It is worth mentioning that the Messi has informed Barcelona on Tuesday that he wants to leave the club, according to several breaking reports. Following Barca’s 8-2 humiliation against Bayern Munich, there were suggestions that the Argentine wanted to leave Camp Nou.
