Prosecution Releases Somali Girl after killing Tuk-tuk Driver for Attempted Rape

The Public Prosecution has ordered the release of a Somali girl pending investigation into the killing of a tuk-tuk driver with a knife after he attempted to rape her.

Police investigations confirmed the validity of her account in the investigations.

The Public Prosecution stated - in a statement ton Friday - that it had received a notification that two people had found the body of a tuk-tuk driver on the public road next to his vehicle in the northern expansion area in October district.

At the same time, a somali girl went to the police station to report the driver's attempt to sexually assault her as she rode in his vehicle. He had a knife with him, but she managed to snatch the knife from him and hit him, and escaped.

The investigators of the Public Prosecution moved to the location of the body, which was found next to a tuk-tuk without metal plates. The scene of the accident and the found vehicle were also inspected, where traces of blood ere found. Forensic evidence was assigned to raise and examine it and prepare a report on the result of the examination.

During the investigation, the Somali girl confessed to killing the driver if he resisted while trying to have intercourse with her against her will.

She explained that she had taken the tuk-tuk, and that he had taken an uninhabited road during that, and he had stopped claiming a malfunction that had hit his vehicle, then he pointed a knife in her face that he was hiding under the driving seat, and threatened her, so she ran away from him. He then followed her, and was able to catch her, putting the knife to her neck.

The girls resisted him and held the knife with both hands until her fingers were injured, and she grabbed him and stabbed him, and she ran away.
