FIFA has issued important warnings to fans preparing to attend the 2026 World Cup matches in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The prohibited items list includes many well-known items such as weapons, explosives, and sharp objects, along with a number of items that some fans may not realize are banned, such as beach umbrellas, selfie sticks, folding chairs, and inflatable balls.

Food and drinks brought into the stadiums are also prohibited, with the exception of one empty, transparent plastic bottle with a capacity of no more than one liter, which can be refilled inside the stadium.

Hours and loud cheering devices, such as vuvuzelas, are also banned, as are large, opaque bags. Only transparent bags or small wallets that meet the dimensions specified by the organizing committee are permitted.

Electronic devices, professional photography and recording equipment, drones, camera poles, laser pointers, and any other items that could obstruct crowd movement or pose a risk to public safety are prohibited.

FIFA stated that possession of fireworks, smoke bombs, and flares inside stadiums will result in immediate expulsion from the stands, with the possibility of arrest and legal action.

The organizing committee also warned fans traveling to Mexico about additional restrictions on e-cigarettes and other modern smoking devices. Mexican authorities have strict laws regarding these devices, and penalties can include substantial fines or, in some cases, severe legal action.
