The Palestinian Society Prisoner's Club (PPSMO) has just issued a statement saying that Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons decided to suspend the food strike after achieving demands by Israel.

The statement of the club made clear that the most important demand of the Palestinian prisoners is abolishing the duplicated collective penalties imposed by the administration of the  Israeli prisons after six Palestinian prisoners escaped from Gilboa Prison days ago.

The Israeli authorities pledged not to target prisoners of the Islamic Jihad Organization and its organizational structure.

The statement added that when the prisoners realized the seriousness of the stage, they all united in planning and thinking until they reached the decision of open confrontation to go on hunger strike, collectively and in all prisons, and with the participation of all factions.

Israel and its security institutions read deeply and with concern, that for many years the climate was not created which has prevailed during this period since Operation Freedom Tunnel, as expressions of a state of national unity (the meeting on the battlefield) clearly emerged, which would have created a massive popular revolution led by the captive movement, and the occupation felt the seriousness of the unitary position on the prisoners of the matter.

It is worth noting that the Palestinian prisoners, who were detained in Israel prisoners,  have decided to start an open hunger strike to improve the conditions of their lives behind bars as of Friday.

The strike comes as a response to security strengthening taken by the Israeli authorities after the escape of six Palestinian prisoners from Gilboa prison in the northern part of Occupied Palestine.

Qadri Abu Bakr, chairman of Freed and Palestinian Prisoners, made radio statements, pointing out that the Palestinian prisoners were exposed to the worst conditions in the prisons of Israel.

He added that representatives of detaining centers, leaderships of Palestinian factions, and the two well-famed prisoners Kareem Yunis and Marwan Barghothi will join the strikers.

He revealed that the other prisoners in the Israeli prisons will join the strikers as of Tuesday.

Abu Bakr affirmed that juniors, women, and elders will be exempted from joining the strike in the Israeli prisons.

Abu Bakr pointed out that Israeli has two options only, to answer the demands of the prisoners or release them.
