President Sisi Urges for Immediate Gaza Ceasefire in Talks with Norway's PM

In a telephone phone call with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Egypt's President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi called for immediate international action to cease the violence in Gaza. The President underlined the urgency to halt hostilities to alleviate the dire humanitarian plight of civilians.

The official Presidential Spokesperson, Ahmed Fahmy, reported that the discussions focused on the essential delivery and facilitation of humanitarian relief to Gaza and the enforcement of international law amidst the crisis.

President Sisi reiterated Egypt's commitment to a just and comprehensive resolution of the Palestinian issue, advocating the two-state solution as a basis for peace.

The conversation also covered the robust bilateral ties between Egypt and Norway, with both leaders keen to advance economic collaboration and mutual investments, building on their countries' historically strong partnership.

The talks underscore Egypt's diplomatic endeavors to foster stability and peace in the Middle East, with a particular emphasis on the Palestinian humanitarian situation.
