President Sisi Meets Chinese President Xi Jinping

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held a meeting with Chinese Xi Jinping, on Thursday, in Riyadh.

Ambassador Bassam Rady, the Spokesperson of Presidency, said that Xi Jinping congratulated President El Sisi for the great organziation of COP 27, and the success of the event.

Rady added that the participation of Egypt at the Arab-Chinese summitt is to improve and develope the historical relationships between the Arab states and China, in addition to contribute deeply and effectivly to achieve mutual interests.

President El-Sisi praised the great development achievements and gained notable international stature of China, he also congratualted the Chinese President on the success of the recently held 20th CPC National Congress. 

President El-Sisi noted that Egypt is glad to have a great friend like China and looks forward to further enhancing Egypt-China comprehensive strategic partnership and promoting bilateral cooperation in various fields so as to deliver more good results. 

Moreover, he asserted that Egypt will continue to work with China to advance Belt and Road cooperation, in addition, China’s active participation in important infrastructure projects in Egypt is deeply welcomed. 

President El Sisi also underscored that he is keen to strengthen the cooperation with China in vaccine research and development. 

Finally, he concluded his talk by thinking China for its important and positive role in COP27, adding that Egypt stands ready to enhance multilateral communication and cooperation with China. 

On his side, President Xi Jinping pointed out that as the regional and international environments are undergoing profound and complex changes, the strategic and overarching importance of the relations between Egypt and China has become all the more evident.

He also underscorted that China supports Egypt in its development path that adresses national conditions and in safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests. 

The Chinese President reflected his country's readiness to deepen Belt and Road cooperation with Egypt, ensure the on-schedule and high-quality completion of the train project in the 10th of Ramadan City and the CBD project in the new administrative capital of Egypt, and make the China-Egypt Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone and other major cooperation projects a success.

He added that China is ready to import more quality products from Egypt and expand cooperation in investment and financing, joint vaccine production and aerospace. The two sides need to promote the Luban Workshops and Chinese language learning so that more people will become bridges for China-Egypt friendship.
