President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi has landed in Qatar to attend the opening ceremony of the 2022 World Cup.
The tournament will kick off on Sunday with Qatar clashing against Ecuador in the opening game.
Presidential spokesperson Bassam Rady said that the participation of President Sisi came upon an invitation from Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the light of the strong relations between Cairo and Doha.
The opening ceremony will start at 16:00 CLT.
